Electric/Electronics Technician I works in the manufacturing and repair areas performing a variety of technical duties. Processes include the use of computers, soldering irons, diagnostic test equipment to repair electronic devices. The Technician I uses hand tools and test equipment to build or repair electrical products. The Technician I is responsible for output of assigned requirements to meet the needs of the production environment.
Along with the use of manuals, schematics, and/or written work instructions, Technician I workers repair breath alcohol ignition interlock devices (IID). The work includes light troubleshooting of field returned devices. Technician I work is usually done individually or in a team structure and Technician I workers must be able to work well with others as well as be comfortable in a production environment. Technician I workers report to a Production Supervisor.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND:
* High School Diploma or Equivalent
* Associates Degree or Equivalent in Electronic Course Track - Preferred
* 2-5 years' experience in Electronic Troubleshooting - Preferred
* Fundamental computer skills for diagnostic testing - Preferred
* IPC A-610 Class I Certification - Preferred
* Ability to work with moderate supervision - Preferred
* Experience soldering circuit boards - Preferred
* Hand soldering experience - Required
* Color Vision (Needed to see colored LED's and wires) - Required
